Total Solution To Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation, Lucknow
Currently involved in developing application software and providing the total solution to Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation (Head Quarter, Indira Nagar, Lucknow).

UP Forest Corporation is under process of implementing the Information Technology solution within the organization throughout the state to strengthen the Decision Support and Information Storage and Retrieval System.

Tools Used For Application Development
The whole application is developed for Windows-NT environment by using Visual Basic 6.0 as front end and Oracle 8 as back end. Crystal Report 7.0 is used as reporting tool for the system.

The whole system is divided into two streams, Stream A and Stream B in which Stream A has been completed and ready to run. Stream B is under development and has been started very recently. Stream A has the following Modular Systems as constituents of the Integrated System

 Financial Accounting System
The Financial Accounting module is designed to implement the complete double-entry system, which can work with the accounting in cash system as well as accrual system. Every transaction to the books and ledgers are supported by  corresponding vouchers, which may be generated by the system if the corresponding function is computerized,  or else the voucher shall be entered into the system. The registered vouchers may be checked online or through checklist. The facility of posting of the voucher is provided for the competent authority.

Personnel Information System

This system is to facilitate the user for information storage, retrieval and analysis related to the functioning of personnel operations. The system maintains data for every Officer/staffs and allocates a unique employee number to individuals (herein after shall be called employees). Apart from keeping the details about the employee this also facilitates to process the payroll and generate the pay slips / bills.

 

This system is  primarily sub-divided in three functional parts

Logging MIS
The logging MIS keeps track of production of different species, their transportation, sale and maintaining the inventory of species .The forest products include different species and medicinal herbs. This system also takes care of the nursery activities in different regions like the species raised in nursery, its stocking and sale. The system also keeps track over the target given for production, transportation and sale of the species and how far the target is achieved.

 Accounts MIS
This system maintains the following information for Management in Accounts department.

Ø      Quarterly Performance Indicator Report is obtained from different regions, which is then consolidated in a single report to be forwarded to Govt.

Ø      BUDGET

 System estimated budget twice in a year for organization and Regions. First budget is estimated at the beginning of the financial year, which is called Proposed Budget (Proposed Estimate or PE). Second budget is created in mid of financial year, which is called Revised Budget (Revised Estimate, RE)

Basic purpose of budget is to estimate expected Profitability, Activity and Efficiency for the current financial year.

Marketing MIS
Basic working of ‘Marketing MIS’ module involves-

Ø      Floor price fixation of different species.

Floor price of the species is fixed according to their Grade and Specification. Grade of the species can be I / II / III / IV and the specification of the species varies according to their length, breadth or height.

Ø      Maintain Auction Information-

·        Accept Sale List of different species (including standing trees) before Auction from all Depots.

·        Accept Form 4.2 (Actual Sale List) of different species from all Depots.

Ø      Maintain information related to Tend Leaves e.g. –

·        Sale List maintenance

·        Tender details

·        Approval / Cancellation of Tender

Ø      Maintain Auction details of standing trees.

Ø      Allotment details of species (e.g. Eucalyptus, Soft wood) to different units (e.g. Vimco Ltd.)

·        Allotted species to units or lifted species by units.

·        Unit wise/Region wise species allotment.

Ø      Maintenance of Inventory Information

·        Region wise/Division wise/Depot wise

·        Species/Grade wise

Ø      The system also produces in a timely manner the  following information for management –

·        Percentage of Sale Price obtained against Floor Price of different species (grade wise) after Auction in different Depots.

·        Quarterly Report of Percentage of Budget achieved in terms of quantity

·        Percentage of unit sale price achieved against proposed budget in terms of price

·        Summary of Form 4.2 according to Approval Authority

·        Balance Inventory Report Region/Depot of different species (grade wise)

·        Allotment details of different species and unit.

·        Highest bid rates obtained for Tend Leaves.

Personnel MIS
The MIS of Personnel keeps track of employee details in different regions group and cadre-wise. The key information that is produced by the system are -

Ø      Total number of employees in a particular region

Ø      Number of SC/ST/OBC employee details in different region

Ø      Details of handicapped/freedom fighter dependant employee

Ø      Number of posts which are to be filled by reservation quota of SC/ST or OBC

Ø      Number of posts vacant in different regions

Ø      Annually promotion details in regions

Tend Patta Auctioning System for UP Forest Corporation

 This software is exclusively developed for Tend Patta auctioning, taking care of all the processes during the auction of Tend Patta. The software is developed using Visual Basic 6.0 as front end and MS-Access 97 as back end. Crystal Report 7.0 is used for preparing various reports.

The software includes the following activities:

(1)   Sort out the tenderers who are not falling in the cut-off price criteria and cancel their tenders.

(2)   Cancels those tenders that are not fulfilling the earnest money criteria.

(3)   Creates listing of tenders in decreasing order of rate so that management can facilitate to find out top tenderers.

(4)   Auto allotment of tenders and adjustment of earnest money during the allotment process.

(5)   Creates the cancelled tenders report along with the reason for cancellation of that tender.


Popup Killer

This application is developed for “Maximasoft Inc., Michigan, USA”. The application is coded in VB 6.0 . The application runs in background and traps every event raised in the system. When any undesired pop up has been opened during the net surfing, s/w kills that popup. There is also the facility to open the popup temporarily by holding the CTRL key and pressing the link which opens the popup. The s/w includes following key features:

1. Start the s/w when window restart

2. Make system sound when s/w kills popup.


Spyware

This s/w is also developed in Visual Basic 6.0 and for “Maximasoft Inc., Michigan, USA”. The s/w has been developed especially for webmasters and holds the following features.

1        The setup of the s/w downloads by clicking the link provided by webmaster at any site and install the s/w silently. Even user doesn’t know that what has been happened and in background s/w starts working.

2        When user go to any popular search engine (Yahoo,Google etc) and search for some keywords, the s/w picks that keyword and connect with the database of the client resides on the web server and matches the keywords with the given listing of keywords by the webmaster and if any keyword matches, the corresponding message window will appear as a popup and at the same time s/w makes a entry of searched keyword and other information into the database.


Purchasing Module

This module is developed under the platform Windows NT 4.0 using Visual Basic 6.0 as front-end tool, SQL Server 7.0 as back end and Crystal Report 7.0 as reporting tool for a France based company “SAFYEAST COMPANY PVT. LTD.”

This module includes all the relevant steps in purchasing of material, given below:

This ERP solution is developed under the platform Windows NT 4.0 using Visual Basic 6.0 as a  front-end tool, SQL Server 7.0 as the back-end, and Crystal Report 7.0 as a reporting tool for “Awadh Texwood Pvt. Ltd.”, Lucknow, India.

TopSpin is a customized Integral Total software solution for Textile Spinning Industry. This is a comprehensive Software Designed and Developed Looking to the present and future need of Textile Spinners. TopSpin attempt to re-engineering the Textile Spinning operating system, which involve greater participation and instant access of transactional information, communication as well as output among the participant by way of Client-Server techniques.


Marketing Management Software (MarkMan)

This software is a stand-alone system under the Windows 95/98 platform using Visual Basic 6.0 as the front-end tool, MS-Access 97 as the back-end and Crystal Report 4.0 as the  reporting tool for “Awadh Texwood Pvt. Ltd.”, Lucknow.

Markman has been developed especially for the fulfillment of the requirement of the marketing division needed by the company. It takes care of all aspects of marketing starting from requirement to order projection of machinery parts in spinning mills.


Customization of ERP

 It was a project of Business Automation developed for a German Company “SANOMED”.

The system analysis is done with the help of CASE tools-
